The RMCAT 2024 set to light up Sepang International Kart circuit

Rotax MAX Challenge Asia Trophy the competitors on track

Following the successful premier of the Rotax MAX Challenge Asia Festival last December on the Malaysian island of Langkawi, the location and date for the next anticipated edition of this exciting new event have now been confirmed. The Sepang International Kart Circuit (SIKC), close to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, will be the host venue for the second RMCAF scheduled for January 26 to 28, 2024. This is the first chance to win RMC Grand Finals 2024 tickets and once again, there is a very attractive cash prize pool.

Race promoter and organizer, Amprex Racing Services, has selected the top-ranked Malaysian circuit for their headline Rotax racing event, believing the 1.247km track will help bring the competition to yet another level. As the Authorised Distributor for Rotax kart engines in Malaysia, Brunei and Vietnam, the team is focused on continuing to achieve their initial objective; to grow and develop the RMCAF to be the leading international annual karting event in the South East Asia region. With this latest announcement, the entries are further expected to exceed last year, while the interest in the championship builds momentum.

SIKC is ideally situated in Selangor, around 45km south of the capital of Kuala Lumpur, allowing easy accessibility for travel from Malaysia’s largest airport, KL city centre and the extensive transport network. The complex surrounding the karting facility is famous for being the venue for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix until 2017 and hosts the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, along with many motorsport events. It was German track designer Hermann Tilke who was behind the fast, flowing layout of the kart circuit, which offers the drivers the opportunity for closely-contested racing, inspired by the Formula 1 SIC itself.

The packed race program for the RMCAF includes six Rotax categories with entries limited* to 34 per class. RMCGF 2024 tickets will be awarded to the champions in the following five RMC Grand Finals classes: Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX and DD2 Masters. The additional category will be MAX Masters. An amazing combined cash prize pool totalling RM400,000 (EUR 80.000) will be shared by the winning drivers! RMC Asia Festival follows the “one-make-engine” formula using sealed (for quality performance) Rotax 125 MAX Evo engines and the regulation MOJO Racing Tyres, according to the event regulations.

*Number of entries is limited to 34 per class and may be increased by the organizer due to demand, if required.

Registration opens November 1, 2023 and closes on January 5, 2024

Don’t miss your chance to be there on the grid at the Sepang International Kart Circuit this January!
