Three Rookies Take on the Rotax DD2 Challenge at Franciacorta
How quickly can experienced kart drivers adapt to the unique Rotax DD2? At a dedicated test day at Franciacorta Karting Track in Italy, three drivers with no previous gearbox kart experience took on the challenge under the guidance of 2024 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals DD2 Champion Xen De Ruwe.
With coaching, telemetry analysis and setup support from Rotax technicians, all three drivers made remarkable progress throughout the day - finishing within one second of Xen's benchmark lap despite driving a DD2 for the very first time.
The test highlights why the Rotax DD2 is an exciting category for drivers aged 15+, Gentleman racers, sim racers and anyone looking for high-performance karting with outstanding drivability and manageable running costs.
